A Butterfly Is Patient is the perfect book to implement into your classroom to younger readers. Whether through a read-aloud or independent reading, the young readers will be able to read this text for information gaining a knowledge about the world of butterflies and all their beauty and wander. During and after the reading, I would assess my student's prior knowledge to help them to understand the information presented in the text. We would make a story mapping web chart and/or a 'KWL' chart to help the students gain the necessary information from the book. Interest Level: K-3Grade Level Equivalent: 5.5Lexile Measure: 1040Very information book about butterflies with great illustrations. This book takes you on a journey from how butterflies begin to explaining why a butterfly is not a moth. It also tells students what kind of butterflies are big and small and where they live. Teachers can use this during their butterfly life cycle unit to teach kids about butterflies.
Wonderful addition to my insect unit book collection.
