A Cry Of Honor (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

This is the 4th book in the Sorcerer's Ring series. It is about this boy named Thor his friends, the Princess Gwen, The king, the MClouds and the Empire. Thor just got home from the hundred and now has to go and stop the MClouds from destroying the MCgils villages, but what he does not know is there is a traitor who may lead him to his death. So what will happen to Thor? Will he die or live? This book is a story of romance, treachery and courage. mmmm just ok. The first 3 books are a fun read. By the forth I started wondering why I was continuing. Neither the Author or the main character of Thor seem to be evolving quickly enough for me. As mentioned in earlier reviews there is too much repetition and Thor pretty much comes off as an idiot. He has all of these unique powers, but only remembers them before his impending death which has happened about 10 times so far.other peculiarities/repetitions (spoilers): - Gwen seems to have a storage of "special places" that no one knows about, but has to show them to Thor every few chapters. As a princess she has no attendants which is weird, but I guess that's why it took her a few chapters to hear that her brother Kendrick was charged with her fathers murder and thrown into the dungeon while she pinned for Thor.- I am almost through this book, but have to stop. There is this strange side story line about a great knight named Erec. This particular knight is the champion for the McGill Court. Pretty much the demi hero that all the women want to merry and all the men envy. Anyway apparently if a knight isn't wed by his 26th birthday a wife will be chosen for him. So when he turns 25 he decides to go on some quest to find a wife. Meanwhile in the previous book his king is murdered. Although Erec is out traveling I am completely mystified as to how this news hasn't reached him and I am almost through the 4th book. - Thor has unique powers that he is trying to figure out and master. In several battles he comes off as the hero and no one seems to ask.... how in the hell did you do that?I love fantasy, but I need it to make sense and have a believable flow. This series doesn't. On a positive note this series and author should give all inspiring authors inspiration to get out there and get their own works published. If Morgan Rice can do it, so can you.

What do You think about A Cry Of Honor (2013)?

In this fourth episode, our hero Thor returns from his training in a distant island, together with other members of his group. Upon his return, he found that the McClouds have started an attach into their side of the Ring and he joins forces with his friends to prevent them from reaching further into their territory. But he is ambushed and his group have to battle against the whole McClouds army. In the meantime, Gwendolyn is trying to save her brother Godfrey, that was poisoned. Gareth is desperate trying to kill all his siblings. He hire a group of savages to take care of his own protection. Erec has his own adventures when searching for a wife and is unaware of what is going on in the Ring. This episode brings a lot of action, but I strongly recommend you read the series from the beginning, so you fully understand the dynamic among the characters.I recommend this book to the permanent library of all readers who love a well written story with a fascinating plot, that will keep you entertained for hours.

I bought this book as 3 books in one book from Amazon. So this review is for books 4, 5, and 6 in the Sourcer's Ring series.Three books in one, great, I can save some money over buying them all separately. That line of thinking has certainly not helped the story to progress.I am about halfway through book 4 and I have to put this book down.I just cannot continue with such blatant spelling and grammatical errors. The problems with this author's writing have finally taken away from my enjoyment of the story. I have to admit that the story definitely had some promise back in books one and two. Book 3 started to really slow me down and this book has finally put the nail into the coffin, so to speak.I have removed the series of books from my Kindle. I wish I could send them back to Amazon, so they could tell this author that an editor is sorely needed.
