This book. I cannot even begin to put into words the emotional roller coaster it took me on. One moment, I was sobbing my heart out, the nest, of the edge of my seat with anticipation. The last 2 1/2 page of this book though. I was crying and in intense emotional pain that last chapter. And then. Then we realize what really happened. And my tears of sorrow turned into laughter and tears of joy. This book is so incredible. Just amazing, simply amazing. A brilliant literary work. A true classic. It is definitely worth all the sorrow and tears. I will say that it was a bit slow in the beginning, but it was a constant climax the entire book. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy. Long live Illustra! While I gave the other two books 5 stars, I am only giving this one 4 for several reasons. I do love the series, and I like the characters, but this book stretched things a bit too far in some ways. There was too much description of all the fighting and I finally started skimming those scenes because it was just too much. Antil's character seemed overly hateful and evil. The ending just somehow was not totally satisfactory. I did not understand why a second savior and king was necessary. I did enjoy the book though and look forward to reading others from this author.I received this book free to review from Netgalley.
