I didn't expect to love this as much as I did. I admit, I was a little sceptical about the concept and storyline, but the majority of reviews I read were positive, and I've heard good things about this author's other works, so I thought I'd give it a go - and I'm glad I did!It was not only a very good story, but an interesting insight into a people that I know little about. It appears as though the author has researched the lives of Amish people and I'd like to think that she presented an accurate representation. I'm definitely going to be reading the sequel when it's out and await its release with anticipation! When I was browsing Amazon looking for something to read and I came across this one I was like "gay Amish?! That's something I never read!" And ok, I thought it was going to be bad, mostly because I don't trust books that only have 5 stars reviews but I guess this time joke is on me, cause I really loved this one! I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be gay in those small closed societies and I have no standards to know of the author made a good job in describing the Amish life, but it sounded pretty legit to me. Isaac and David are both so sweet and it's endearing to see their relationship beginning. Thumbs up also to the sex scenes! Yes people, the gay Amish book is hoooooot! Which sadly is the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars, I just felt like for 2 boys who had no contact whatsoever with the "unclean world", they were waaaaay too advanced with their sex. Idk, maybe once the dicks are hard, guys just know what to do, but even though it felt too much to me. Other than that, it's a great book. It's sweet, it's sad sometimes and it's hot! Perfect combination! And I was all YAY when I saw there's a sequel planned for next year!
