It's a short read but I never felt connected, partly down to the way it's divided into different flashback sections (5days ago, 4days ago..). The story is in separate blocks and I didn't like the lack of flow. I also found the pacing felt rushed.Took me awhile to separate Taylor from Aiden and they both sounded very young. There's a whole lot of dedication in becoming an athlete and I didn't quite get that vibe from these two.While I understand patriotism and an author setting the story in a locale they know (Go Canada!), I have to admit that this close to the last Olympic games my own sense of patriotism was asking what the issue with Brit's hospitality was? and a little narkily muttering 1976.A short light read, written in a style you'll either like or find off-putting, unfortunately for me it was the later. 3.5*Aiden is on his second Olympics, his first diving partner was caught cheating.His new partner Tyler is young and on his first Olympics, but he also really really likes Aiden. But Aiden doesn't really seem to like him very much, or does he? The picture prompt was gorgeous and I like the cover the author chose for her story.It's told in a very interesting fashion, with each day and dive. I loved the setting of the Olympics and the Olympic village, and of course all the dedication of the athletes.
