This book was ok... The story is about Anna Mae who was shunned for leaving the Amish to marry an Englisher. Five years later she is expecting her first baby and wants to see her Amish family in Lancaster. She is hoping they can reconcile so her baby can know her family and her roots. Because its a short book, there was not much character development and the plot was definitely predictable. It was a quick read and a nice Christmas story. This book focuses more on being shunned then most of he books I have read in a long while. Most Amish fiction want to gloss over it and move on but not this books. Some people may be taken back by the coldness of the family but I like the honesty behind the emotions. Being shunned is not only on the Pearson leaving te faith but leaves a gaping hole for the family as well. This book focuses on a families struggle to mend the riff and find a way to be together at Christmas.
Awesome Christmas Story. Would read it again next Christmas!!!!!
