Her voice sounded tinny over the satellite phone link. ‘Oh, yes. Ginny’s asked for a posting.’ ‘A posting! No! Why?’ ‘Dunno. She’s been really low since the accident. There’s obviously something troubling her. To begin with I thought it might be a reaction to having such a close call.’ ‘I can’t see Ginny getting post-traumatic stress,’ said Debbie. ‘Exactly, but it now seems as though it might be something to do with Netta.’ ‘She’s not lost the baby?’ ‘Debbie, I haven’t a clue. I don’t think so, but Ginny’s really withdrawn at the moment. Colonel Bob doesn’t think we ought to pry, but I don’t know. What do you think? You’re a woman, surely you have an idea.’ ‘It’s a bit difficult to know from this distance. I mean, if I was talking to her face to face it would be different. And if it was Netta’s baby I can see Ginny being a bit upset, but it’s not the sort of thing that would make her depressed.’ ‘Yeah, you’re probably right.
