This story was uniquely written and has great impact to it. I don't know if it was intentional or if it's just my way of interpreting it but Alex's randomness between the dialogues helped me to understand a little bit better how hard his life had been before he got the help he needed. It made the beginning a bit confusing since a lot was going on and there was a bunch of characters speaking and Alex would just go off in thought between the questions being asked. I loved Everett for sticking by Alex through all of this and I loved Alex for trying so hard for himself and for Everett. This was really a great story. I read this months ago but must have forgotten to rate it. This is a Christmas story about the reunion of a bipolar man Alex with the family that has always looked out for him & the best friend who would do anything for him including letting him go. It's an emotional & poignant story The author has a disjointed writing style filled with incomplete sentences & thoughts which can make her stories hit or miss but they usually capture my attention. In this case, because we're in Alex's head the little bits of incoherence actually works well. It's also bit melancholy but ultimately happy story capturing the bittersweetness of the holiday and just a little about living with bipolar disorders.
Incredibly touching, I want to continue on the next stage of Alex and Everett's journey.
