This was my frist novel by Cindi Madsen and so long as I have breath it will not be my last.Darby Quinn has a realistic (her words not mine) view on love and relationships. And as I turned more pages I agreed. Fairy tales gave us false hope about love and what to expect from relationships. They 'refused' to show viewers and die-hard-believers of love the trials after the wedding. Yes I know there was Cinderella 1,2 and 3. And yes she and Prince Charming conquered all odds to be together but she had talking mice, and singing doves to help. Not to mention a fairy godmother with a endless supply of magic. Us mere mortals only have our wits, common sense, friends and family and large amounts of alcohol to use.But fairy tales made us believe magic was real. And if I'm honest, love is the closest thing to magic. Should I be bothered that there was no sex scene and only hot kisses? Am I reading a young adult novel? I enjoyed the witty dialogue but the sweeping declaration was not enough to move me. If anything, I'd be more likely to believe in love after Devin's speech but the ending between Jake and Darby does not assuage 'fears' that it isn't for the long haul. And damn it, who holds on like that after so many brush offs and rejections?
Son zamanlarda okuduğum en iyi kitaplardan biriydi. Her sayfası ve satırı sıkmadan akıp gitti.

Very cute book. A steamy sex scene would have got the book 5 stars.
