All Of You - Plot & Excerpts

That she was now just a guest like everyone else.
No, worse than that… An unwelcome visitor.
Not that it was going to stop her.
Not that anything could have stopped her.
Kat knocked on his door and then held her breath.
As she heard his heavy footsteps making their way to the front door, Kat’s leg muscles gave out a bit. She gripped the black, wrought iron railing on his porch and leaned into it.
Or maybe my knees are going weak… Knowing I’m about to see him.
Be near him.
Talk to him.
Maybe even accidentally brush up against him… Kat shook her head against the unrealistic, unhealthy, and downright dangerous desires swirling around her non-functioning brain.
You’re just checking on him.
Making sure he’s okay.
And then leaving.
And never coming back.
Ever.
A second later, the door swung open and every last cell in Kat’s nervous system went nuts.
Kat took him all in: baseball hat on backwards, dark gold/brown scruff covering his cheeks and neck, beautiful lips, his thick arms… The gorgeous body she knew lay beneath his clothes, a body she knew almost as well as she knew her own… Blue-green eyes that had once gazed at her with such tenderness, love, and adoration…that were now eyeing her with such antagonistic coldness… And, in that moment, staring up into his face, all Kat could think was: I’ve been drowning.
