An Awesome Book of Love! caught my eye because of the illustration of a heart-shaped world held up by happy fuzzy creatures on the cover. These warm-fuzzy sort of images are seen throughout the book. I must agree with the first page that claims that this book is "For everyone who has ever loved." The oblong shape of the book is sort of mirrored through the text, which begins with "if I were..and you were" statements presenting opposites on either end of opposite long pages. They have images between to lead your eye from text to text, and really draw the book together. Overall, this is a super positive, heart-warming little book. I don't see a ton of educational value in it, beyond maybe reading it as a story to Pre K-2nd graders (2nd might even be pushing it). The illustrations are clean and endearing, just as the text is. The title says it all. It truly is an awesome book of love. Not just for your children, but you spouse, partner, your love. There's more emotion behind the words if you're able to read it aloud to whom it's meant for, it's that much more powerful. Those who were lucky enough to get the audio version on iTunes are in for a treat if you let Mr. Clayton read it himself. As he is the author, he puts inflections where we might not & it can change the love conveyed from the words. On another note, An Awesome Book of Thanks Would be a fantastic addition to a classroom library.
What do You think about An Awesome Book Of Love! (2012)?
Cute illustrations, but definitely not awesome. My 5 year old and I were both bored.

I really did find this sweet. Reminded me of Dr. Seuss.
