This one was tough for me, because well- FIRE is my worst nightmare but I had to read this book so I have that in the back of my mind while I write this review. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED LORA- she was totally tough badass, and awesome. She was truly a match for Kenton Lake. I mean seriously, she punched him right in the face and dragged his ass out of a fire- HELLO SUPERWOMAN! Normally- I am shocked at the killers in Cynthia's books but I had this one pegged a little earlier than I expected but it does not take away from the sheer craziness of that killer.Kent- oh, wow... He is hot and not just when he is trying to get into the fire either. He is his own set of intensity and his feelings for Lora even surprise him- example, the scene when her brothers are over for dinner and he goes crazy alpha male over it not knowing its her brother....awesome read and Cynthia never disappoints! First of all, Cynthia set high standards with her previous book. (by standards I mean the level of sickness, disturbed, degraded mindset a perp can have). While the sicko in the book was indeed all that sick a freak, he wasn't all that sick as the previous one.Nonetheless, it was just as intense. My heart nearly stopped beating near the end. It was so awesome to see all of the agents again, especially Monica and Luke, and Sam too. The scene with Kenton and Lora's brothers was hilarious!!! LolAnd lastly, I was expecting Lora to join the division,and not the other way round... Well let's see what's the next book has in store for us.
