Avengers Arena, Vol. 2: Game On (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I didn't expect this to improve, but it did. After laying down the premise in Vol. 1, Hopeless gets to work on the ups and downs, the alliances, both tentative and longer-lasting, and does a great job of adding character depth all around, as well as letting the stakes affect the characters to great accomplishment. The Arcade backstory was a great palate-cleanser and set a great tone for the character work that took place in this volume. So in volume 2 Katy's character gets more interesting, but unfortunately it still didn't save the book for me. I don't know why my brother likes this series that much. This was one of those books where I tried to speed read through it so I wouldn't have to endure it any longer. It was just a lot of pointless death and I kept getting all their powers mixed up. Everything was a little trite just because it was exactly as I imagined would happen with these crazy characters getting in fights and what not. I'm glad that I finally got to see what happened in Arcade's past to come up with murder world, but it was so pathetic. He treated everyone so much worse then he was treated, and I would've like to see him actually have a good reason for being evil.

Donde debe de quedar sólo un sobreviviente no se sabe si el villano es el héroe.
