This was an exciting read for me. Erin is a character who always seemed a little off. With bits and pieces of her past throughout the series, I really wanted to know more. While this was full of mystery and action packed drama, the truth about Erin and her past was totally heart wrenching. It's easy to see why she fights so hard to keep Noah at bay. This was a nice addition to the series and I can't help but love Erin just a little more. Not only is she a big tough warrior but she is also empathic and loving. I was trilled with the end. I can't wait for the next book. This latest installment in Katie Reus’ Moon Shifter series is easily my favorite in the series so far. Reus has been teasing us with the building relationship between Erin and Noah since book one, and now we finally have the payoff!Noah found Erin on the worst day of her life. She had been beaten and left for dead, discarded like trash near a dumpster. He instantly felt connected to her and brought her back to his pack. The tie between them only grows stronger over time. But Erin insists on keeping Noah at arm’s length. It’s clear that the attack damaged her in ways that no one knows, and that may truly never heal. What it didn’t do was stop her from becoming the Enforcer she was destined to become. Now Erin is assigned her first case, and it just so happens to be in New Orleans, where Noah’s father is alpha. It makes perfect sense for him to join her for the trip. Someone is kidnapping pregnant shifters, and Erin’s job is to stop them and find the missing women. As she and Noah work together to unravel the case, they finally begin to address the undeniable pull between them. But can Erin put aside her past long enough to give her future a chance?I love that despite her vulnerability, Erin is such a kick-ass wolf. Even better, she doesn’t waste all of her energy overcompensating, either. She is able to draw from her own experiences to empathize with the victims; she can be soft when she needs to be and still be tough when it’s time for heads to roll. Meanwhile, Noah is almost too good to be true. He is so patient with Erin’s issues, even when he has no idea what they are. He is sexy and strong and he is never threatened by the fact Erin is an Enforcer. He respects who and what she is –and never once cross the line from alpha to alpha-hole.The mystery was good and the action kept the pacing quick. I really liked the time and attention devoted to secondary characters Angelo and Brianna. I am curious as to whether they have a book in their future or if they will stay relegated to a b-plot. I thought the book had great sexual tension and the sexy times definitely satisfied. My only complaint was in Erin’s big worry about a roadblock to her relationship with Noah. It was cliche and predictable. And there was just no way his reaction could have ever been what she expected.Overall, though, I really enjoyed this one! I’m curious as to where the series will take us next.Rating: B+
