Bad Kitty Will Nicht Baden (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
This is kind of a cross between a picture book and a middle-grade reader, almost like a graphic novel. It's a lot of fun, effortless compared to the first two, and I like the way the narrator interacts with Bad Kitty. Again, as with Bad Kitty and then Poor Puppy, the story has become more sophisticated between books -- this would be a fun readaloud for kids who like Bad Kitty picture books, and also a good choice for them to read on their own as they advance. Bad Kitty Gets a Bath is another funny book in the Bad Kitty chapter book series. In this story, the author provides humorous instructional steps for giving the disobedient cat named Bad Kitty a bath. He lists some things that will be needed for the bath time, such as a suit of armor and clean underwear in case you get too stressed and have an accident. The author gives instructions on preparing the bath, putting the cat into the bath, and what to do after the bath; he also talks about why cats don’t like water and why they lick themselves. The graphics that go along with the book are funny and are sure to keep children entertained. Reading Level: 3.5Grade Level: 3 - 5Lexile: 650L
