Blue Exorcist is a decent shonen. Rin Okumura is a half-human half-demon offspring of the man himself, Satan. After the death of his adoptive father, he vows to become an exorcist and kill Satan. The story sounds more promising than it actually is, which is to say it doesn't build up to the greatness I assumed it to become. The only thing that sets this series apart is the artwork, that progressively more detailed as the series goes on. I'll end by saying that Blue Exorcist is a decent series to get into if you so decide to include any if all volumes currently available. You wont be disappointed, for the most part. I just finished watching the anime a couple months back and I have to say that it was really. I was very curious to see how this transitioned well into the manga. When I got it for the first time, I loved it a lot. I liked the art-style given to the characters and sticked with the plot of the original anime. However, as chapters continued to pass, it turns a little bit rushed for my taste but passes. Overall, I recommend picking up this book for any casual reader/collector. The story seems a bit cliche, but it gets extremely better over-time. I recommend watching the anime.
