She couldn’t have possibly heard him correctly, yet she knew she had. If she gave him her heart and he left again, she’d be ruined. Life wasn’t one big, long sail on a smooth ocean. Seas grew rough and treacherous. Gio had already shown her how he handled tough times. He wasn’t the ride it out type. Nope, he was the hit the road running type. She had to keep this just sex, nothing cuddly or romantic. Being held in his arms felt too much like heaven. She couldn’t have that then have it ripped away.
