Before my promotion, I’d get through twenty-five to thirty submissions a day. But, lately I was lucky to get through ten. I didn’t want to fall behind and cause Rebecca to think I wasn’t worthy of her confidence or the promotion. I popped a frozen pizza into the toaster oven and changed into a pair of sweatpants and a tee shirt. It reminded me that I hadn’t gone running in days.
