He twisted the cap off and drained half a bottle of water in one swallow. “Could be that it’s a hundred and five degrees, and I’m stuck out here fixin’ goddamned fences with your sorry ass.” Clay’s brows shot up. “Somewhere you’d rather be?” Only one place he could think of. Hence his testiness. It’d been a solid week since he and Reese were together, and Pax hadn’t stopped thinking about her. She’d stayed with him until almost eleven.
