This is the second in this series, so I must have missed the first somewhere along the way. I think the authors Grave Witch series is a lot more concise and flows better. This vamp series is chock a block full of ideas. The abundance of them has the reader chasing after each new angle and in doing so the main storyline becomes less distinctive. The mage subplot, the shifter subplot and the vampire plot are all worthy contenders for books on their own. The combination of the three needs to be more precise and interwoven with a little more care. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy the writing K. Price produces, her creativity and her gritty characters are memorable and very entertaining. This book was an okay following of Once Bitten. Did not care much for the involvement of the Vampire Council and issues brought about by them. Seems like the Demon aspect from first book into second could have been left out entirely. Didn't add much to book other than the urgency to find the rogue killer in the first book. Gil is a bit of an annoying character as well, but does provide some functionality when Kita needs her assistance.
The first one was okay. This one will make you want more!Where is the next one?????
