Smiling, Emily thanked the woman for giving her a lift and closed the car door. The town looked busy for a summer afternoon. The diner and coffee shop were full. Emily hiked her bag onto her shoulder and started the slow walk back home. She’d kept in touch with her parents. Minimal contact nothing too intense. Travelling around the world had opened up her eyes. She saw things she would have never accepted back then. A few friendly faces recognized her and gave her a wave. She smiled and continued on down the street. Mum and dad lived on the outskirts of town not far from the church. Emily stopped and stared at the house. Nothing had changed. The daffodils were out in full bloom and the grass beautifully mown. She opened the small gate and walked up to the house. A second of the hesitation was all it took and she rang the small bell. The inner door opened followed by the front door. Emily stared up into the eyes of her uncle. A blush formed on her cheeks. The last time she’d seen him his ass had been naked.
