Contemporary romance bringing two men together that have had more than their fair share of heartache. I enjoyed both Rey and Sam's characters. They are both trying to cope with the tragedies they have faced and are reluctant to give each other more than physical comfort.(that changes as they get to know one another better) Sweet, sad, a bit angsty, some lovely secondary characters and an happy ending. Even though some things are not resolved and I did not quite understand the relationship between Sam and his family, I enjoyed the book. Sam is a beat cop, new in town. On his first night on the job he meets a short order cook, Rey at a local diner. Sam and Rey meet again at the grocery store and eventually hook up. Sam and Rey both have secrets from their pasts that haunt them. Can they make a relationship work, or will their pasts catch up to them. This is my 2nd book by this author and I think I have found A new favorite author in the M/M genre. I love her writing. It flows well. It has mystery and keeps you turning the page it see what will happen next. Her books also have a good bit of spice in them :)
