I loved crank, mainly because of how realistic it is. Ellen Hopkins's own daughter is a crank addict which is what I think gives it it's realistic quality. This book clearly demonstrates how easily someone can become dependently hooked on this horrible drug. Trying just once can get you hooked for life. It slowly but surely take over your entire life making you a completely different person than you were before the drug. This is shown in the main character Kristina when she starts referring to herself as "Bree" sometimes, Bree is who the drug turns her into. Crank and Glass: my best books of the series...Fallout: not so much. Maybe it's because it's from the children's POV, but if it was from Kristina's it would've been repetitive. I have mixed feelings about the series conclusion in Fallout. But it had the necessary elements for a good (bittersweet) ending.I think everyone should read this series. I may have once thought that I would've liked to try crank myself, but after reading this series it's definitely helped me to see that that's not such a great idea.
