I love this series. Everything about it is awesome: the characters, the history, the keys, the art. Excellent new additions to the key collection. We know who made the keys and why, but hoping to find out more about this 'iron that is not iron' and who Crais is. Also, WTF is that multi-eyed thing in Luke's back? Also waiting to see whose body Sam eventually takes over. Crazy to see Dodge's old body. I was waiting for Nina to put herself in the cabinet. Guess we'll have to wait. I wish there were more books! Another good installment in the series. I didn't find the main body of the text to be as engrossing as the previous two volumes. However, the stakes were still high and the plot was interesting. The true emotional heft of this volume comes from the epilogue. Nina's storyline is absolutely devastating and never more so than in that section. Watching her devolve is heart-wrenching.As before, there's great use of setting and horror/psychological thriller elements. The characters are interesting and highly individualized and I'm invested in what happens to them. There's some good action sequences and Dodge's ruthless crusade to find the keys is just as chilling as it was before. I can't wait to continue on.
What do You think about Crown Of Shadows (2000)?
