This was just what I needed. A story that jumped right into the action. No big build up, right down to the problem at hand. Taylor wants Will, and Will wants Taylor. But Will does not want to get involved because for one, he does not want to ruin their partnership or friendship. And two he is a commitment type and knows that Taylor is anything but.So why was it just what I needed. Well cause these two are comfortable with each other. They have spent years watching each others backs. They are best friends who share so much history. So no angst right? Well talking that step from friends to lovers is a scary thing. Will fights it for reasons he thinks are valid. And Taylor dealing with so much already is ready to walk away.Throw in three criminals trying to get rid of them, well that makes this book so good. The angst is right where it needs to be to keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a fast pace book that when it ends will leave you wanting more. I am a Josh Lanyon fan and I promise you I will be reading the rest of this series. Ipicked this up for free - yay! - and it is a good solid story about the relationship between two guys who are friends, work together as partners and who are just starting to deal with deeper feelings.Will and Taylor have obviously known each other for years when the story opens. Will is recovering from being shot, after he becomes reckless on the job after having made a drunken pass at Will. Once Taylor is recovered, they go hiking to try and reestablish the equilibrium in their relationship.Boys, don't you know, once Pandora's Box has been opened, it can't be shut again! At first, I thought the story was going to be about their next mission, but it is about them setting new rules for all their relationships : friendship, work and potential romantic relationship. The case they stumble into is the secondary story, though the interactions with the gang do escalate the resolution of their feelings. Once I realised it was their story, not the heist, I enjoyed how it panned out, and the addition of the chase/escape was good too. Shall be looking for more Dangerous Ground stories
