What do You think about Daredevil By Mark Waid - Volume 1 (2013)?
I've said before that I've never been a big DD fan but I keep hearing good things about Mark Waid's more light-hearted approach and it keeps appearing at the library. It's certainly easy to just jump straight in despite not having read any recent stories (though I'm vaguely aware of the last 5-10 years or so of DD events). There's a definite sense of fun and intent to explore the lighter side to Matt, making for enjoyable reading. The initial Spot fight was excellent. There's intrigue, a nice way of playing with his not so secret identity and the legal side works well. The art is a little mixed though there are some nice sonar effects. Plus it all ends setting up a larger story. Not bad - I'm happy to read a bit more if they come up.

Gunna be needing about...oh...100 more like this, thanks. The art was refreshing and on-point, totally loved how his senses were portrayed in the illustrations. The writing was fun and clippy without being overrun by one-liners. Brought a lot of color to a character that has been grimdark for far too long. Immediately placed the next few on hold at the library and will be ringing up my local shop to pick this one up. I think it is a pretty decent starting point for people interested in the character, or, in my case, people who didn't realize they were.
