Daredevil By Mark Waid, Vol. 2 (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
Just a generally good book - good writing and good art. The interplay between Spider-man and Daredevil and Black Cat comes out spot on each time. The lead story with Daredevil leading a field trip gone wrong was a stand-out. The way Daredevil is tied into the larger story of his life is well done, without it being too detailed or long. Believable and good - which is why more Daredevil books are going on hold. I'm a huge Daredevil fan, and Waid's run has been a breath of fresh air for the character. The art contained herein, including the guest artists work is fantastic, working seamlessly with Waid's narrative to paint a series of three compelling stories, none of which feel too short or editorially heavy-handed. Admittedly, the first tale about Matt lost in the snowy wilderness with a bus full of blind children is the strongest, but the Spider-man/Black Cat team up was whimsical and surprisingly non-invasive for a crossover. The Mole Man story was the weakest in terms of plot, but made a significant point that lent some growth to Matt. The final ultimatum with the Omegadrive was a clever and exciting step for the series, which should lend itself to some interesting future plots, without wrapping the character up in them.Overall I felt pretty great about this book. If you enjoyed the first volume, I suspect you may even enjoy this one a little bit more.

The best mainstream superhero comic going right now. I think I said that already.
