I've said it before and I'll say it again, The Necromancer series is totally a guilty pleasure for me. I've really enjoyed this series of books. There were some sections that drug on a little bit for me, most notably the parts about Kiara and her pregnancy, but I chalk that up more to my likes and dislikes than to anything Gail Martin did. All told, this whole series is a fun read and definitely worth the time for any fantasy fan. This last book of the Chronicles of the Necromancer couldn't come soon enough. While my perception of this book isn't as bad as the horrendous book 3, it is none-the-less a very trite, simplistic, unimaginative read. I was not impressed by Martin's storytelling, and I will not be reading any further books by her. Her characters are shallow, and the solutions to their problems just happen to fall into place. I was never surprised in this series, and this book is no different. I would not recommend anyone read this series. Glad to be done with it.
What do You think about Dark Lady's Chosen (2010)?
Excellent read in a great series by a bright new voice in epic fantasy.

Couldn't really get into this -- not so much a vampire fan...
