Chazma is a witch with a Fae Grandfather. Her mother and step father were recently slashed to death in NY. Her grandmother is worried that Chazma will go after their murderer. She encourages Chaz to apply for a job in Ireland to catalog a private library. Chaz is hired by Jethro McBain. Upon arriving she can sense the magic, the ancient protective wards in and around his home, yet she senses no magic in Jethro. Yet something in her dark side is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Her powers are growing and she needs food to fuel her body. 2 men wish to date her - Tom the local garda/police and James the new doctor. Is it because she is new, attractive, or do they have other reasons? Chazma is contacted magically by the evil one who killed her parents. He is in Ireland and killing young women to gain power. She hides the depth of her power from him. Jethro wants to keep Chaz safe. He believes his ancient powers will defeat the evil. But Chaz believes she is the only one with the power to kill the evil one. They distrust each other. Jethro makes a start to get her to trust him. He can no longer hide his attraction for her and she certainly reciprocates. When another woman disappears, can they work together to save her or is it too late? When they separately arrive at evil's home, Jethro immobilizes the evil one and intends to give him over to the police who are working to get to them, while Chaz is determined to kill him, despite the surprise she learns about who the evil one really is. In a flash another party arrives and takes the decision away from the 2 of them and the evil one receives his greatest desire, only not the way he expected. I really enjoyed this book.Chazma comes from a family of white witches as well as fae's. Her magic is not only powerful but has the ability to turn dark if she is not careful. She gets a job in Ireland working for Jethro and finds that he has powers also. Can she trust this man with her deepest and darkest need for revenge upon the man that killed her parents? She will soon find out that if she can't what will she do with the love that has captured her. This was not a new concept book but it was written fantastically. It is really hard to surprise an avid reader when it comes to love stories but it is hard to find an good author. I have! The characters were vivid and the plot was typical. I cannot complain in the least. A suggestion: Put a little more steam into the sex scenes. They were average but still well written.
What do You think about Dark Love (2012)?
2.5 stars. A bit of a choppy writing style. Story was OK
