This was a short and light historical read and it was just ok. There was humor, infatuation, a little lust, and love of course. Chelsea and Brett got to know each other well and in the course of their walks found each other intriguing. Chelsea was really amusing and she's likeable, the champion of the underdogs, human and animals alike. It's an admirable trait. She has the zeal for justice and is not afraid to stand up to those who pick on the weaker ones. Brett is the usual jaded rake who found Chelsea a bit of fresh air. It's no wonder he's jealous when she flirts with the others. The sex scenes were tame and just as well. I liked how Chelsea rescued herself, reminds me of Drew Barrymore's character in the movie "Ever After". Chelsea Halloway has been left at a boarding school and forgotten by her Aunt Augusta. Chelsea soon has enough and decides to run away to London to find her godmother. Her godmother is outraged at Augusta and takes Chelsea in. At 19, Chelsea should have been out of boarding school and betrothed by now. And it's not long until Chelsea is the belle at the ball. But Chelsea only has eyes for the one man who is set against marriage.Runaway Heart is a lovely book. It tells the story of Chelsea coming of age and entering soceity. I really enjoyed this book, it was really sweet in parts and really liked how the romance blossomed between Miss Chelsea and Lord Bretton. This was the first Rengency period book I've read, and thought it rather fascinating, I shall definitely be seeking out more.A nice short romantic read :)
