This is the the first book in the Shadow series. You meet the MacFares for the first time and Damon Drummond. The MacFares are more than meets the eye and so is Damon. The Faes and Dracula are involved in different ways excitingly and mysteriously. The hereon of this book is Shawna and the hero is Chadwick MacFare. You just won't believe what you learn about him. This was a very intense book with lots of plot twists. Poor Shawna can get on your last nerve with her immaturity and unwise decisions. It's a wonder Chad didn't walk off and leave her butt more. She really needed smacking a few times. Overall a fantastic book and I've already gotten and started reading the next Stalkers, Shadow Heart Slayer. I can't wait to see what happens next!! This is another 5 star book by Claudy Conn. She hasn't disappointed yet. Have a heroine who is half vampire and half white witch and who is running from her vampire father. She encounters Chad, an immortal, who will help her against her father (naturally he has his own reasons for doing this. Great story, great characters and hated when it ended. If you love Claudy's books, you will love this one which is the start of a new series.

I usually enjoy her books but the feelings between Chad and Shawna seemed rushed.
