Excellent book! Challenges you in looking at what are idols or other gods in your heart. Is God the only god in your heart and life or are there other gods in your life? It made me look at things very differently. It is amazing the number of things that a person can put in place of God in there life in a well meaning way, yet God needs to be number one in your life. Kyle points this out in a very good direct way. This is the second book I have read by pastor Kyle and is every bit as good as Not a Fan. In Gods at War we are reminded that GOD is a jealous God. He created me for fellowship with HIM and since I am a sinner, HE paid to have fellowship with the blood of HIS only son, JESUS. So, HE wants nothing to come between me and HIM. And, Idleman points out all of the other gods competing for my attention: food, set, entertainment, success, money, work, material possessions, family and me! He reminds me to be on guard, guard my heart so I can remove obstacles to a relationship with GOD.
