Days Of Wine And Roquefort (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
I love a cozy mystery, but this book was truly awful. The writing was fine, but the character development was so amateurish & boring that I thought up until 60% of the book that the main character was in her 60's or 70's by her language & actions. When I discovered that the character was 35 years old, I almost dropped my book! Who in the world says "Fiddle-De-De" anymore? The descriptions of the cheese were very good. The animal descriptions were ridiculous & made me cringe...and I am an animal lover! Not my cup of tea, I will avoid this series in the future. In this most recent Cheese Shop Mystery, Charlotte's fianacé, Jordan, has gone off to the trial that will help end his involvement in the WITSEC program, leaving Charlotte and her other cast of characters from Providence, Ohio, to solve the mystery of who killed her house guest, Noelle, and why. More and more of Charlotte's friends and family are becoming involved in snooping (as Police Chief Urso calls it) and with as many as five suspects she needs all the help she can get.I really enjoy this series but this one came together a little roughly for me. There was too much conclusion jumping and a couple of the characters just were't authentic from the start. I will say that, if you're a fan of this series, the rivalry between Prudence and Sylvie is great comic relief.
What do You think about Days Of Wine And Roquefort (2014)?
Very well written. Could kinda see who did it from the beginning, but not they why. Very nice.

Cheese, wine and a protagonist you want to be friends with, what can you ask for!
