That didn’t seem like a good thing, but it was way better than a killer. And since the cops were actually back on my side again, I didn’t think it would hurt to answer it. I opened the door, and a plainclothes cop with a badge around his neck smiled. He said, “I’m looking for Hamilton. Is he here?” “No, he’s not. Sorry.” What the hell did he do that the cops are looking for him?
