This book made me laugh out loud several times! Daisy's cheekiness was refreshing and, of course, funny! I love the name Sebastian for characters, they are always such rogues. He was a rogue but also a tortured author. Laura's descriptions of writers block and the panic that comes from it was really well described. The expectations of authors to dole out one masterpiece after another has to be crippling and it is so masterfully written that it carries the whole plot. What I enjoy most about this series of novels is the timeframe Guhrke is working with. It makes them stand out, gives readers some new ideas to play with, and sets us free from your usual emboldened regency miss. Unfortunately, the bulk of this novel is nothing that you couldn't have easily transplanted into a regency. (Actually the two suffering artists playing off each other really reminded me of MJ Putney's Rake novel, just instead of painters, here you have writers. Well, and no undercover agents.) Perfectly pleasant, but lacking that spark of specialness.
What do You think about Declaración De Amor (2011)?
First book I've read by this author. Sweet story and interesting.

3.5. Love this series, but had a tough time getting into this one.
