I have never been intrigued by the story of professor Dragon and his mate Anastasia until I read this book. Both characters are shadowed by more important characters in the original novel, yet I don't think that this book gave them their history full justice. It was nice knowing about Dragon's and Anastasia's past and knowing more about their personalities. However, I wish the book was a bit longer and shined the light on Anastasia's background. Overall, It was a lovely book. P.C and Kristen Cast had done it again! Dragons Oath ReviewDragon’s Oath by P.C & Kristin Cast is an off shoot of their original series House of Night, this novel gives the back story of Dragon/Brian Lankford, and Anastasia, and how they meet and fell in love. Reading this novel while reading the House of Night series gives more insight to the characters, and lets the reader understand the characters on a deeper level. Dragons Oath is set in a time that was before the civil war, where Louisiana was just starting to blossom until this time vampires had control of the island, humans were never a problem until Sheriff Biddle. Sheriff Biddle compactly believed that all vampires were vile creatures that should not exist“Humans will never leave is in peace. They hate us!” (pg. 99 P.C & Kristin Cast) screams Diana the High-priestess of the Louisiana House of Night completely agreeing with Sheriff Biddle philosophy. Yet Dianais no better than Sheriff Biddle as she despite’s him as much as he despises vampires. “Then let our Warriors into town to teach Biddle that he cannot harass out fledglings!”( pg.100 P.C & Kristin Cast)screams Diana to the council trying to convince her fellow vampires, and a many agree with Diana. The Warriors should go and teach Biddle a lesson, and any other human that tries to challenge them. One mans’ terrorist is another man’s hero. This book combines magic, with real life, and an amazing example of that is when Anastasia uses a spell to protect herself from Biddle, that scene was so powerful, and emotional which is why it is my favorite. This novel has multiple themes that question so many human, and vampire morals which is why this book is so entertaining.
What do You think about Dragons Schwur (2012)?
not bad. my biggest problem was the language seemed too new for the period piece.
