I found Shannon Butcher's series, Sentinel Wars, by accident. My first downloaded ebook from the library was On the Hunt. The book has four stories including Shannon Butcher's The Collector, Sentinel Wars 3.5. That lead to reading the whole series. While I have loved all of the books leading up to Dying Wish, this is my favorite. If you haven't read the series, I'll warn you that the men can be a bit overbearing. Think determined, sometimes egotistical (what guy isn't?) and you have the Theronai. The main character here is no different except he has no soul now. Add a kick-ass female character, Jackie, and you have a whole lot of fun. I kept thinking there is no way this is going to end well... I was actually getting really anxious... I won't give anything away but will say I loved the ending.I highly recommend this series and suggest reading it in order. If you start here, #6, it will probably be too confusing. I really liked this book but I still don't like that there are so many things that needed more details and an ending of some sort... For example Serena:Iain used to love Serena, he lost his soul and didn't feel anything for her anymore.... so now that he has half of his soul back he could suddenly love her again ! Another example:Jackie was insecure about her scars but when Iain started undressing her I didn't even slip into her mind anymore... I mean come on you can't just forget that if you were truly insecure about it...Other that that it was pretty good :)
What do You think about Dying Wish (2012)?
Another excellent installment in the Sentinel Wars series. Love Iain and Jackie's story.
