Every summer Jenni and her family vacation with her best friend, Autumn, and their family. Everything seems normal until Jenni takes a ride in an old elevator. The world is now one year ahead and Jenni has no recollection of the past year. Jenni then learns that something terrible happens to Autumn's family, something that tests the strength of their friendship. She realizes how people can change after something bad happens. I liked Jenni's character. She was the sidekick and had trouble doing things on her own. She struggling with finding her own voice and standing up for herself. All things to be testes in this book.In another tale of time travel, this one holds a good lesson as well. What happens when you know the future? Autumn and Jenni are inseparable best friends who do everything together, but usually the things Autumn suggests. During the summer of their 12th year everything changes while their families are on vacation together. I found the beginning a little slow as I waited to find out the meaning of the book's title. However once the life changing events occurred, I couldn't put the book down! Well written this is a great read for fourth through sixth grade girls.

This was a very enjoyable contemporary piece but it had a little twist of action.
