Fables, Vol. 12: The Dark Ages (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
This is the first volume of Fables that I've read, so perhaps it's wrong of me to try to write a review, even a brief one: while I enjoyed its Sandmanesque stylings very much, I didn't necessarily get who all of the characters were, or care as much about a couple of "deaths in the family" as I would have if I was the full twelve volumes in. However, I'd like to say that as someone who came to Fables *after* watching a couple of seasons of Once Upon A Time on TV, my jaw dropped upon realising the size of the debt that TV show clearly owes to Fables. And on the strength of Vol 12 at least, the graphic novel is better. Definitely hoping to go back to the start and catch up on the whole series, and who knows, this could go up to a four-star review based on what leads up to it.
What do You think about Fables, Vol. 12: The Dark Ages (2009)?
Good, but disjointed. I'm hoping 13 pulls it all together again.
