For the ultimate curl-up on the couch comfort read, you can’t beat Sahnnon Stacey. Small town contemporary romance without the saccharine. The plot in this book felt like a rom-com bordering on the hackneyed, but Shannon pulls it off. The hero Max is an introvert who lives life according to a plan and his new plan is to find a wife. The first step is to get out and meet women so that he can go on a date. Of course the dating pool in town is small and Max lacks the social skills to execute well. His first attempt to pick up a woman at the local diner goes down in claims but a waitress observing him decides to be his dating coach. She coaches him into akin the city clerk out but finds herself drawn to him. You can see where this is going. I love the way the romance and attraction builds between these two. Another enjoyable read from Ms. Stacey. 4/5 on romance scale. Two thumbs up for Falling for Max. It has the shy/loner/socially awkward hero type that I adore. The hero has a reputation in the small town for being a serial killer. Because nobody knows how he makes his living and he has expensive security for his basement. The heroine is a waitress at the local diner who also designs book covers. He comes in to the diner trying to meet women and it's pretty hilarious. This entire book has some funny moments. It's just a light, fluffy read.I liked watching the shy/socially awkward hero get more confident and go after the woman he wanted. And some of the things he says are hysterical. This book is part of a series but I haven't read any of the earlier books. I'm going to read the earlier ones because this book was a lot of fun.
*happy sigh* A very satisfying end (for now…) of the Kowalski series. I really love Max!
