There were two SUVs parked in front of a garage that was bigger than Jayson’s apartment at the Pines. This wasn’t just the other side of town. To Jayson, this was like a whole other world. He knew, even before Ms. Moretti rang the doorbell, just from standing on the front porch with two wicker chairs facing the street, that this was the nicest house he’d ever seen in real life.
