I'm really liking how the POVs shift and how we have a new couple's story with each novel (two in this one), but also have ongoing overarching romances as well. I sometimes enjoy those just as much if not more ;) I'm really hoping Gabe develops well as a character. Trance was a very good character :) I like his complexities and, well, it'd been a little while since I'd read a Dom story :)3.8 As these two writers evolve (two women writing as Sydney Croft), the books get a stronger voice and more defined characters. That's what saves them from being run-of-the-mill. They are indeed totally predictable on a visceral level, it's just the storyline that alters somewhat. Again, as I've said before, it's also reminiscent of Black Dagger Brotherhood as each character has a 'book', there is a blind 'king'/boss (who doesn't necessarily stay blind) and each ACRO agent has his/her own specialness...such as speed, super-strength, the ability to contact/communicate with the dead AND they deal with their 'gifts' with the same struggles as our BDB guys do. Am enjoying but these are not books I would re-read as with BDB or god forbid, '50'.
What do You think about Gespielin Des Feuers (2000)?
I'm hooked on this series. I've just started this book. More to come soon.
