Meg Cabot & Allie Finkle do it once again. I defy you to find a fourth-grade girl out there who won't relate to at least some of what Allie is thinking, doing, or feeling, & it's just impossible not to adore her lovably wacky family. This time Allie is facing a terribly difficult decision: should she go see best friend Erica's older sister compete in a baton-twirling competition with all of her friends (batons! Glittery, colorful costumes! Trophies as tall as Allie herself!) or should she go to the birthday party celebration of a frenemy from her old neighborhood with whom she has a past (Brittany's a really mean girl - but a limo ride! Makeovers at popular party destination Glitterati! Dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! AND an overnight at the downtown Hilton Hotel - with a real, live waterfall in the lobby!)Both would be fun, but how many times is Allie going to get to ride in an actual limo, or have her picture professionally taken showing what she'll look like when she's an actress-slash-veterinarian? Even though her real friends are going to the Twirltacular, Allie just can't miss up an opportunity like this. So she sort of...stretches...the truth (which is totally okay if you're only doing it to keep from hurting someone's feelings) to her friends & gets ready to go to the birthday party of the century. Funny, though, how things often don't turn out the way you expected...Allie learns some important lessons in this one, & although they're not subtle, they're imparted in a story that the age group will find absolutely gripping, in a situation that many of them will be familiar with. Glitter girls and great fake outs is by meg cabot. It is about a girl who has to choose between two opportunites. One of them is going to her best freinds sister's compation and hanging out with them or going with her ex-freinds to ride in a limo and go to a fun costime store and go to the cheese cake factory and a big fancy hotel for a birthday party. Of course, Ally picks going in a limo (who would'nt). I would probley pick the same thing that Ally did consitering in this sitionation there are a lot of fun things to do at this party.I really like how the book takes a turn and she gos with her ex-freinds instead of going with her real freinds because, it leaves you thinking why would she do that. It really suprized me that she didnt go with her real freinds because you dont usally go with your non best freinds you usally go with your real freinds.I rate this book 5 stars because its a really good book and it has a lot of twists and turns, you should really read it.
