Glitter Girls And The Great Fake-Out (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I like this book because the main character is called Allie, and my name is Allie too! Not only that, I think the series of Allie Finkle is really good. This story is about Allie's friend Erica invited her to her sister, Missy's competition. Allie really wanted to go. But as soon she found that out, her mom said that she is invited to that horrible Brittany Hauser's birthday party. But the birthday party is really cool. But she also wants to go to the competition. And she wants to go to the birthday party. So Allie lied to her friends to not make them not like her. When she went to Brittany's party, not everything went well. First, her mom didn't buy her Brittany's gift so she had to find something to give it to her, which is a book. Then, as she was choosing her costumes, Brittany made her pretend as a pirate, so she had to or else she is going to get very mad. She got laughed by all her friends except Courtney, which is also her good friend. At last, Allie went home, she didn't get to stay for the sleep over at a hotel. But she gets to spend time with her GOOD GOOD friends at last. In this book, Allie learns the harsh realities of which girls are her true friends and which are not. Enticed by the glamour of going to Glitterati, Allie turns down an event with her true friends to go out with her false ones. She learns through painful experience that it is always best to stick with your true friend. Allie always remembers her lessons, though, and comes up with some new, very good rules for girls. Appropriate for girls ages 10-12. Audiences who enjoy Ramona by Beverly Cleary will also enjoy this spunky young heroine.Tiffany J.
