The title of my book is Princess Lessons by Meg Cabot. This book is about how a princess needs to act and how to behave. Being a princess is more than just being beautiful, even though being beautiful has a lot of meanings. This book gives help to princesses who need to know how to become a better princess. The topics in this book range from beauty all the way to education teaching young princesses how to dress and how to have pretty hair. In the chapter that talks about beauty, Paolo, the hairdresser, talks about how to become a pretty princess. He list the essential things that a princess must have in her purse such as lipstick or gloss. He also talks about how to keep your hair in good conditions at all times and the best ways to wash it. In the next chapter how to be have a good behavior, how being a good hostess is important and how to be one as well as how to address nobility correctly are mentioned. An example of addressing a noble correctly is calling a King of Queen your Majesty and a Prince or Princess your royal Highness. Another example would be bowing before introducing yourself to show respect. A noble would only have to bow to their superiors not the people bellow their social class. In this chapter talking like a princess is one of the thing that is important. Princesses don’t gossip or swear, but they are good listeners. Good table manners are really important for a princess and knowing which knife, fork, and spoon is which is also really important. Even though drinking a soup may seem the messiest thing, a princess must always drink it by sipping from the edge of the spoon. How to write a proper letter is really important for thank you letters are always welcome and appreciated. How to talk in the phone matters for manners matter even though the other person can´t see you. Defending yourself is a good thing if you don’t have a bodyguard. Screaming is the best way to get someone to run away for it confuses them. The next chapter talks about how to dress like a proper princess. To do so you must have the right type of skirts, pants, shirts and jackets as well as shoes coats and jewelry without forgetting the tiara. The next chapter talks about how to make a friend, being a good sport, and being a good spectator. It also gives tips on what to do when you have mail, for example stop sending messages to someone that doesn’t write back for that means that they are not interested. Popularity and ways to save the planet are other topics of this chapter. The next chapter talks about education. To have a proper education a princess must learn Latin, French, needlepoint, dancing, and gemology as well as some other subjects. Extracurricular activities are also really important. The last chapter talks about the mysterious world of guys. This chapter explains how to get your prince charming. This book ends with a note of Princess Mia that explains some things expressing herself. This book is a nonfiction because it talks about how princesses behave and how they should act and how they should be when they are in public. Four interesting words from the book are mingle which means to mix in a crowd, stance which means posture, demurely which means reserved, and curtsy which means a respectful bow. I would explain the topic of this book to a friend by telling them that this book is about things to do when you are a princess. I would recommend this book because it is really interesting. This book was made by the same author of Princess Diaries so it gives real information about how now princesses are supposed to behave and how they should be around guests. I would recommend this book to people who want to find out how princesses today have to act and how they should dress.
This book was really funny and useful. Even though i have not read the other books in the series, i have seen the two disney movies, so i sort of have a feel for the characters. I'm pretty excited to get my hands on the rest of the series though. Great book, especially for middle and high school girls, as it teaches that while looks and first impressions may be important, lasting courtesy and friendship will take you far. I also loved the illustrations, and felt they brought the characters to life, considering this was mostly a how-to book, though the different perceptions on specific issues were comical and very realistic.
What do You think about Princess Lessons (2003)?
Princess Lessons is a compilation of tips and tricks on how to be a princess from our favorite Princess Diaries characters. It includes beauty tips from Paolo, etiquette from Grandmere, and other fun advice and facts about real princesses from various people in the Princess Diaries world.I really loved this. I think Princess Lessons would be the perfect gift to give a tween or young teen who is a fan of the series. Even if they're not fans of the series they might enjoy it, but it's better to be familiar with the characters in order to understand some of the humor involved. Some of the tips were actually really good. There's a mix of actual advice and silly things such as the proper way to curtsy or wear a crown. So, it doesn't read like a manual because of the humor and side-notes from Mia. It stresses confidence, good hygiene, kindness, and just being yourself. A great message to young people who are under constant pressure to look and act a certain way. This is by no means necessary to the series in general. It doesn't further the story or have any plot points, but it's a great companion that provides awesome tips all the while making you laugh.

Such a sweet, practical book :) I crack it open all of the time just to get a smile or a laugh. The Paolo parts are especially good at brightening my mood almost any time of day (as it did when I simply thought of his "J.C. of Penney" eyebrow wisdom when I started writing this five minutes ago). Though, apart with being one of the sincerely cutest books I've ever read; it also has practical advice. A lot of it is a bit on the point-blank end of the spectrum, but even with that, every now and then we all need a Paolo to remind us about self-maintenance or Princess Clarisse to remind us of royal etiquette ;)

Fluff. Fluffity fluff fluff fluff. With some good advice mixed in. I read this novella... umm... guidebook? on my flight to Dallas. It's just little essays from various characters on how to be a princess -- deportment, etiquette, fashion, makeup, etc. I learned a few things, and it's not to "be pretty all the time" which I liked. In fact, there was a definite emphasis on being yourself but with more confidence and kindness than normal. I loved how Mia's dad listed all the topics a princess (or rather, today's nobility) should study. That list was crazy. Too bad there weren't any essays from Mia's mom or step-dad. They seemed to be the only characters not represented.
