This review is for the audio version. The story was perfectly fine, even if the progression of the romance was a little rushed for my tastes. My problem was with the horrible narrator! I like narrators who attempt to give each character a unique "voice." My problem was that he gave one of the main characters an overdone cowboy accent that made me think, "saddle up, Pilgrim!" every time I heard it. It was so distracting that I had trouble finishing the book. There are so many good things to say about this book - I was only about a third of the way in when I bought the rest of the series and another series by this author, the writing, story and characters are that good!I have said in other reviews that if a book can make me cry, it is an amazing book, and this is one of those - it's also incredibly hot, heartfelt, funny and you are cheering for David, Jerry and William as individuals, a family and for the partnership as well!It is also a great story to illustrate how life happens when you've made other plans! Jerry never thought about having a family, David never thought he'd have anything to do with his family again, but the path of this book takes them through all the ups and downs of all those things. For William, the little boy, he just wants to be somewhere he is wanted, and if he gets loved, that may simply be a bonus, but boy do you cheer for him too since he wraps around your heart in the first chapter alone!Already halfway through the second book now!
What do You think about Good To Know (2009)?
nice story about an old gay having to raise a 10 yo kid and finding love without expecting it.
