This story begins on the first set of endpapers and concludes with the second set of endpapers. Sunny Acres was the friendliest farm in the county until grumpy goat arrives. He's cranky, he's hungry and he's never had a friend. All the other farm animals learn to stay away from goat. One day he finds a dandelion at the top of the hill which changes everything. This is a nice little book with beautiful illustrations. Grumpy goat is a bitter, antisocial old goat, until one day he stumbles upon a dandelion while grazing. It reminds him of something (We're not told what exactly), and he sets about tending to the little flower. This warms his heart and eventually the other farm animals are able to befriend him. It's a nice story with rich oil painting illustrations. I picked the book up because I recognized Helquist as the illustrator for the ASOUE books. It was cool to see what other work he's done.
A cute read. Well drawn. Not something I'd read over and over.
