Hasta Martes: Un Guerrero Herido Y El Golden Retriever Que Lo Salvó (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
A wonderful book! Strongly recommended, not only for dog-lovers or those interested in the effects of war on the human psyche, but everyone. A classic "boy and his dog" story, except that in this case the "boy" is a man: US Army Captain Luis Montalvan, a wounded warrior struggling to find the key out of the prison created by his wounds – physical, but even more, the psychological effects of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). The dog is the exceptionally well-trained and just all-around exceptional Tuesday... their story will very likely bring you to laughter and bring you to tears, sometimes on the same page. Again, highly recommended. Until Tuesday is a memoir about the life and experiences of Luis Carlos Montalván. This is a wonderful story of how Luis Montalván arose from his war anxieties with the help of his beloved service dog, Tuesday. Tuesday is a beautiful golden retriever whose main goal in life is to love, help, and serve others. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 star rating because it was brilliantly written and told a phenomenal tale of redemption. Montalván gave great descriptions about his feelings, and I felt as if I knew him as a friend. I would recommend this book to anyone who might be in a rough time in their life and needs a little cheering up. Our everyday challenges seem like nothing to what Luis Montalván has had to overcome. This is a very inspiring story that is written with passion.
