I quite enjoyed the premise of this story, all the different gifts and the vampire island. But some minor details really annoyed me; the recruits and even our hero Jared were constantly giggling. I'm sorry but really does anyone over the age of say 7 giggle? Certainly not uber masculine vampire warriors. Well perhaps they do but I couldn't help but grimace every time I read it. Why couldn't they just laugh or chuckle even... Also I really really dislike the way Jared constantly referred to Sam as a bitch. Sorry but that's just ok. Sam referring the Jared as a bastard got pretty old pretty fast too. What just because they are super tough commanders they can't possibly have a non derogatory pet name for each other? I did enjoy the story line though although the big battle seemed to be a bit rushed. 5 Clit Zapping Stars!!I loved Jared and Samantha/Sam! Sam was feisty with a very smart mouth and she was definitely bad ass! Jared was a super sexy alpha and thought no woman could be as good as him fighting battles. It was a whole lot of fun watching Sam prove his sexist hot ass wrong. I was also very hot and frustrated waiting for them to hook up. Sam put up one hell of a fight attempting to stay away from Jared. The heat between these two was off the charts. I loved every bit of it. There was a lot of focus on these vamps gifts. I may have skimmed a bit during some of the training. I know...I can't help it! I wanted to get to the good stuff! lol Can't wait to read the next one:-)
