Dante Garcea (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Overall a fairly good paranormal werewolf story with several graphic sex scenes. As in the first book the characters are well developed, even if the main couple in this book isn't too different from the couple in the first book in the series.Jaime is a somewhat puzzling character, with personal issues, while as the same time comes off as self-confident. As in the first book the male character, Dante, isn't as developed as Jaime's character, which is a bit unfortunate as this whole story centers heavily around these two characters. There is a side story, but it's given so little room to develop that it's hardly worth mentioning as it's mainly used to drive the character and relationship development forward, rather then have any self-sustainability at all.One thing that really bothered me, as a man, is how the anal scene played out.Dante claims that as they are mated he has some right to her body and has the right to claim all her (three) holes. Her ass is his and as he likes to see his hand print on her butt cheeks he can spank her all he wants. In the same way her butt is his to fuck even if she doesn't want him to... along the same line of thinking then his butt must be her's to claim and she can fist it all she wants, right? This kind of chauvinistic male characters aren't uncommon in Erotica and I really wonder why. Are there women that prefer this type of men or do they just just like to fantasize about them? I never did get a good feel for Dante or Jamie. I never felt connected to their characters in any way. The first part of this book was nothing but him fighting his attraction to her, and Jamie was constantly holding secrets and trying to get over him. It just felt as if it went on and on, and that seemed to take away from both of their character depth. I knew little to nothing about either one of them and really could care less about either of them. I don’t know, it just didn’t work for me. The storyline, nor the characters ever caused any emotional pull from me aside from frustration. It also felt far to similar to the first book in this series. Right down to the lame nicknames. Book one was Flintstone, this one Popeye. It had me cringing each time. The sex in this read was pretty hot, but that was about the only aspect of this book I enjoyed. When they weren’t f'ing they were bickering over trivial BS. It just became tiresome. I can say Im officially done with this series now.
